Founded by Barack and Michelle Obama in 2018, Higher Ground is the home of exciting and impactful storytelling from Oscar-winning films to blockbuster podcasts.
Higher Ground is seeking an experienced Producer to help with our slate of always-on shows. The Producer will work closely with current team members on the daily production of the show, helping with interview scheduling and prep, editorial decision-making, episode editing, and remote and in-studio tapings.
The ideal candidate has strong audio/video production skills, experience producing chat shows, and an eagerness to tackle both creative and production challenges.

Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Host and Production team to produce episodes of the podcast.
Lead weekly production meetings and create meeting agendas.
Create show workflows and contribute to the development of show structures
Pitch episode topics and guests
Oversee the guest booking process:
Communicate with guests’ teams, the Host and their scheduler prior to recording.
Send all necessary invites, prep docs and recording links to all parties.
Be in touch with all parties on the day-of the recording to finalize all prep.
Track all past and upcoming guests
Create research prep documents for the Host.
Schedule pre-interviews with the interviewees, as needed.
Research and fact-check episodes, as needed.
Edit raw interviews in Premiere Pro to assemble episode rough drafts, ads, and promotional materials.
Be in close contact with the Managing Producer, Senior Engineer and Social Media Manager for timely delivery of all assets
Oversee the show’s Airtable schedule and editorial calendar to ensure everything is updated and reflected correctly for outside parties to reference.
Manage advertisement obligations, execution, tracking, and deliverables related to the show.
Help the marketing team gather any materials needed for marketing/promotion.
Communicate release dates and send any social assets to interviewees in advance of episode airing.
Requirements:
Three years experience working on high production interview or chat shows
Professional-level understanding of Premiere Pro and ProTools editing software
The ability to work collaboratively with high profile talent, interviewees and all partners
Excellent writing/editorial skills for building podcast episodes from the ground up.
Be a self-starter in all aspects of the show production:
Own communication with Host to develop a trusting, close-working relationship.
Check in with all production team members on a regular basis to ensure schedule and deliverables are being met.
Problem solve and fill gaps as needed, relying on your experience and intuition to get the job done.
Excellent communication, organizational, time management and leadership skills.
